LES MISERABLES opened in New York City at the Broadway Theatre on March 12, 1987.
In 1990 it moved from the Broadway to the Imperial Theatre, where it reopened on October 17, 1990.
The move was made to make room for another new musical by the same creators, MISS SAIGON.
LES MISERABLES, 1997 New York
The papers here reflect the rig in New York as it was updated (principally replacing the original light curtains with Digital Light Curtains and replacing some lighting fixtures with ETC Source Fours) as part of the show's 10th anniversary celebrations in 1997. The rest of the rig was an updated version of that London design.
